Business’ Plea to Support Local

EVF said it the situation was in contrast with the pandemic when people were buying local as supermarkets implemented queuing in car parks.
As well as the closure of Morgan’s Pie, Ramsey Bakery, Paula’s Kitchen and Close Leece have all closed over the last two years.
It said: ‘With Morgan’s Pies Limited sadly closing later this month, we will have lost four great local suppliers over the past few years. Supporting local businesses keeps money on island, money that companies spend in the local economy, in other local businesses, which has a positive impact on the local community, including local farmers, and creating local jobs.
‘During lockdown these local companies all worked hard to ensure our shelves were full, as customers switched more to purchasing local, instead of waiting in a car park, for permission to enter a supermarket.
‘Support local businesses – we do.’
