Douglas’ Subway Location Confirmed!

It’s been revealed where Douglas’s new Subway is set to open, and this time there’s no guessing required.

After teasing fans last month with a ‘guess the location’ post, Spar Isle of Man has now confirmed the new branch will be opening on Regent Street in the capital.

The update came via a recruitment post this week, with Spar announcing it is hiring full-time and part-time ‘Sandwich Artists’ ahead of the launch.

It follows last month’s announcement that Subway would be returning to Douglas this summer, after making its comeback to the island in Ramsey last year.

That marked the end of a two-year absence following the closure of the Peel and Port Erin stores in 2023.

The brand’s return has been driven by Mannin Retail, part of the Heron and Brearley Group, which partnered with Subway to bring it back to Manx shores.

Until now, the exact Douglas location had remained a mystery, with Spar encouraging people to submit their guesses online.

But with Regent Street now confirmed and recruitment underway, the opening appears to be moving a step closer.

And for anyone who guessed correctly first time… there’s no prize we don’t think, but at least you can say you called it.
