Isola Bids Farewell (For Now) After 19 years

After 19 years of serving up some of the best Italian and Mediterranean dishes in Douglas, Isola is closing its doors – but don’t panic yet!

This isn’t goodbye, just a little break.

Owner Peter Ingrassia told Gef that an exciting new opportunity to lease the historic building on John Street has come up, and something fresh is already in the works.

Peter’s keeping details of the new venture under wraps for now, but promises it’ll be something special.

‘We’re closing on a high – we’re still a very popular place to eat after 19 years!

‘But now feels like the right time to turn the page and look ahead’, he said.

And while Isola will be taking a breather, this definitely isn’t the end.

Peter has plans for the Isola name to live on, with whispers of potential residencies in hotels or even a new restaurant venture in the new year.

So don’t be too sad – it’s more of a ‘arrivederci’ than a final farewell!
