Manx Whisky Strikes Gold
Winning the gold medal means that Single Cask #9 now has a chance at the title ‘The Worlds best Young Spirit’ which will be unveiled in March
The Manx Whisky Company struck gold at the World Whiskies Awards in London last week with its Single Cask #9 bottling in the Young Spirits category.
In addition to the gold medal, two silver medals were also awarded; one in the New Make Spirit category and one for a different Young Spirit entry.
Young Spirit is a category for spirit that has spent between six and 24 months in cask and that is still too young to be called ‘whisky’.
‘It is incredibly encouraging to know that our spirit is competing at the highest levels and that it holds its own when compared to the best in the world’, said Magnus Grinneback, co- founder and distiller.
‘Co-founder Scott Young added: ‘At the start of our journey we did not dare dream of winning a gold at the World Whiskies Awards! I am so proud of what we have achieved as a small distillery, and I hope we can build on this success to make the Isle of Man synonymous with world class whisky.’

Manx Whisky Company was founded in 2019 and produces whisky made from local raw materials. Its first batch was released in December last year.
