Meatball Marinaras Face Uncertainty

It is likely that Subway stores on the island will relocate to new premises as part of the sale of Shoprite to Tesco, but no firm commitment has been given.

There are currently two Subways on the island, in Peel and Port Erin.

Based within Shoprite’s stores, islanders have queried what will happen to the franchise stores, which are owned by the Nicholsons and unaffected by the sale of Shoprite.

While Tesco has indicated that the Subways are ‘expected’ to close, Gef understands that the Nicholson family is ‘looking’ at alternative locations on the island.
