Smash N Fry Hints at Comeback

Fans of a Douglas burger joint may not have to wait much longer for its return.

Back in January, Smash N Fry, which had been based opposite the library on Duke Street, announced it was temporarily closing until further notice due to what it described as ‘unavoidable reasons’.

At the time, the takeaway promised it would return with even better ‘taste and service’, leaving plenty of loyal customers hoping the closure wouldn’t be permanent.

Now it seems those hopes might soon be realised.

Responding to a comment on social media this week, Smash N Fry gave an update suggesting plans are moving forward behind the scenes.

The business wrote: ‘We are opening soon, we have got the location. Just getting prepared – it will take a few weeks.’

While the exact spot hasn’t been revealed yet, it appears the comeback won’t be in the same premises where the burger joint previously operated.

Smash N Fry built up a following in Douglas thanks to its menu of smash burgers and fried chicken.
