Smokehouse Closes its Doors

The owners of Moore’s Smokehouse have closed the business tonight, citing advice they received today.

Darren and Jennifer Nicholson announced the closure of the business earlier this week, with the business due to close on Sunday.

In a post on Facebook tonight, the company said: ‘Due to further advice received today we have decided to close Moore’s Smokehouse this evening. It will not re-open under our stewardship and as such will be closed for the foreseeable future.’

The post has been met with messages of support from customers and residents.

Moore’s has been open in Peel for over 140 and was one of the last remaining traditional smokers of kippers on the island.
