Somewhere on the Island… 5,000 Cups Are Hiding

Residents are being urged to check cupboards, car boots and even that dusty picnic bag at the back of the shed as a full-blown national emergency has been declared… and no, it’s not the weather for once (although she is pretty miserable today).

The team at Foraging Vintners in Port Erin have sounded the alarm after revealing their stock of reusable FV cups has dropped to critically low levels ahead of the reopening of the Cosy Nook on April 1.

The business says it bought a whopping 5,000 cups for last summer… and now ‘hardly have any left’ heading into the new season.

We can see why, they’re pretty nice cups.

Despite thanking customers for taking part in their so-called ‘Winter Storage Scheme’, the situation has now reached boiling point.

A spokesperson said: ‘We would like to thank everyone for participating… however, if you could check the back of the cupboard, boot of your car, or the picnic bag and return any cups back to FV.’

To sweeten the deal, cup returners won’t walk away empty-handed, each one brought back will earn 10p towards a charity box. ?

However, with new stock taking more than 15 working days to arrive and cash flow described as ‘tight’, the team are relying on the good people of the Isle of Man to step up.

The plea ends with a rallying cry: help avert this crisis before it’s too late.

Foraging Vintners will reopen at HQ this Friday at noon… assuming, of course, someone brings the cups back.
