Have you spotted a WWII Spitfire roaring over your house or office today?

Manx skies are looking a bit more 1940s than usual today as the iconic aircraft was photographed and filmed across the island, with people stopping mid-step just to look up and catch a glimpse.

The vintage fighter is currently on the Isle of Man, giving lucky passengers the chance to experience a 35-minute flight from Ronaldsway Airport in a fully restored WWII Spitfire.

Organisers say the experience lets people feel the roar of the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine on take-off before sweeping over the island’s coastline, cliffs and castles.

They describe it as a chance to ‘live the legacy’ in one of Britain’s most iconic aircraft, with flights departing throughout summer.

Seats are limited, and the cost appears to be £4,950.
