Good news, Manx meat fans.

Isle of ManMeats has launched a new range of Manx beef and pork products in Tesco stores across the island.

Sausages, bacon, burgers and meatballs made using 100% Manx meat have been on the shelves in larger Tesco stores since November 20, with Tesco Express shops adding them from November 27. They’re also available through Tesco’s home delivery service.

Michael Barker, General Manager of Isle of Man Meats, said the launch was ‘a positive milestone for the island’s farming community and for everyone who values Manx produce.’ He added: ‘It means more local meat on the shelves, more often, and makes it easier for households to choose Manx as part of their weekly shop.’

He said the products use simple recipes to showcase local beef and pork, adding: ‘Our farmers work hard to produce excellent livestock… We are committed to continuing to make steady progress, step by step, to rebuild trust, strengthen supply, and support a secure future for Manx food.’

Tesco says it’s keen to stock more Manx items.

Bethany Auger, Buying Manager, said: ‘We’re really proud to be supporting local Manx suppliers… and we believe these new products offer great quality and value.’

James Lamont, Head of Local Sourcing, added: ‘The quality of Manx produce is exceptional… We know demand is there from customers for more Manx produce and we have some exciting plans for next year.’

The rollout follows operational changes at the meat plant aimed at improving quality and consistency. Damien Corcoran, Chair of Isle of Man Meats, said the company and Tesco have built ‘a genuinely strong working relationship’ and that improvements at the plant now allow the new range to launch with confidence.

Work is also underway to add Manx lamb to the range in future.
