Union Mills Breweries Team Up for New Red IPA
Something’s brewing in Union Mills—literally.
Odin’s Manx Brewery and Kaneen’s Brewery have teamed up for the first time to create a brand-new beer, set to make its debut at the Isle of Man Beer and Cider Festival in April.
The collaboration sees two of the island’s most well-respected small breweries come together, bringing their combined expertise (and, apparently, their own seating arrangements) to craft a 5.5% Red IPA.
Odin’s Manx Brewery shared the news, posting: ‘Exciting Friday today!!
‘Our first Collaboration with our very close neighbours Kaneen’s Brewery! A 5.5% Red IPA available at the Isle of Man Beer Festival!
‘There’s not normally an opportunity to sit but Peter brought his own chair…’

Odin’s, which started life in 2019 using the old Betteridge’s Brewery kit from Hampshire, has gone from strength to strength, expanding and relocating from Maughold in 2024 to a bigger site in Union Mills, just off the TT course.
Rob Storey, the founder and brewer, is known for crafting six core cask beers and keeping the island’s beer scene lively.
Meanwhile, Kaneen’s Brewery, based at Kaneen’s Garage, has its own unique backstory.
Originally a car garage run by Peter Kaneen’s father, John, it became an artisan brewery in 2021 after Peter swapped spanners for brewing school and turned his workshop into a fully operational beer haven.
With both breweries based just down the road from each other, it was only a matter of time before they joined forces.
Their Red IPA promises to be a highlight of the festival, giving beer lovers a bold, malty, and hoppy creation to look forward to.
