Dolyn’s Barber Shop Snips Up £341.48 for Isle of Man Foodbank

Forget Santa’s workshop – this Christmas, the real magic happened at Dolyn’s Barber Shop in Port Erin.

Armed with scissors, clippers, and a whole lot of heart, Dolyn raised an impressive £341.48 for the Isle of Man Foodbank through his annual ‘Pay What You Can’ day.

On Saturday, December 21, customers flocked to Orchard Road for a fresh cut with a side of festive goodwill.

The idea was simple: get a trim, pay what you can afford, and know every penny was going to help local families in need.

This year’s total nearly matched last year’s £350, proving once again that Port Erin’s community spirit is as sharp as Dolyn’s fades.

Speaking after the event, Dolyn said: ‘Christmas is an expensive time of year, and I’m sure there are many who struggle to cover everything.

‘This is just a small gesture to anyone it may help. I think the Foodbank is a good cause, as they also buy presents for children.’

Without a social media page to shout about the initiative, Dolyn relied on good old-fashioned word of mouth. And boy, did the locals deliver.

The turnout was a testament to the tight-knit community, with people lining up to support the cause while walking out with fresh styles.

A Cut Above

The £341.48 raised will go straight to the Isle of Man Foodbank, helping provide essential items for families in need.
