Fire Fighters Reach First Summit

A team of fire fighters aiming to climb the six highest peaks in the British Isles have cleared the first hurdle.
The team of four scaled Scafell Pike on Monday and is due to scale Ben Nevis today.
Across six days, the team is looking to summit Scafell Pike (England – 978m), Ben Nevis (Scotland – 1,345m), Slieve Donard (Northern Ireland – 850m), Carrauntoohil (Ireland 1,038m), Snowdon (Wales – 1,085m) and Snaefell (Isle of Man 621m).
The money raised will be split between The Fire Fighters Charity and Isle Listen.
Isle Listen is an early intervention positive mental health initiative, which aims to highlight the importance of mental health and its equal importance to physical health. Isle Listen provides a range of vital mental health services and training in schools, the workplace and the wider community.
The team has self-funded all expenses for the trip.
