Aged between 14 and 35? Then you should be booking a free heart screening, with slots available to book from 4pm today.

Craigs Heartstrong Foundation’s next screenings are on April 23 and 24.

The screenings are organised by the charity and offered free to all islanders aged 14 to 35 to help detect any undiagnosed heart conditions such as that which led to the death of footballer Craig Lunt.

Since Craig’s tragic death in 2005, his mum Paula and his mate Paul Healey BEM (he has added that to his Twitter btw) have worked tirelessly to ensure no-one has to go through the grief they went through.

To do this, they team up with Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) to offer the screenings, with any defects that are identified referred to specialists.

As well as this, the charity also works to ensure defibrillators are accessible across the island at sports clubs, schools, offices and in public spaces.

The charity has definitely saved lives on this island and will continue to do so, it could even be yours.

The slots will go live on the booking calendar at 4pm. To book a place visit craigsheartstrongfoundation.co.uk.
