Menstrual Coach hosts Bloody Celebration for IWD

What better way to celebrate International Women’s Day than with a previous 30 Under 30 winner doing a boozy period-themed quiz at Kiki’s? Well, tickets have sold out, so you can’t. Sorry. But that doesn’t mean I can’t tell you a bit about it and its creator. A Todd who is all about blood and murdering. No, not Sweeney Todd. A different Todd that’s slashing stigmas and murdering taboos around menstruation.

‘The Big Period Quiz’ is being hosted by menstrual coach Emily Todd, who some of you might recognise as one of the winners from last year’s 30 Under 30 Disruptors category. It’s a girls night of fun and facts, giving people an opportunity to find out more about the intricacies of menstrual cycles while also raising funds for the Wellbeing of Women charity – the only UK charity funding all of women’s reproductive and gynaecological health.

It’s a night of double celebrations for Todd. She’s not only commemorating IWD with her pub-quiz-style event but it’s also the first anniversary of her menstrual cycle educational business, Femm Collective, which strives to break down stigmas, challenge taboos, and place female health under the spotlight. The company was born following the success of her book ‘Go With The Flow’, an interactive journal aimed at educating teens on their menstrual cycles.

Todd also hosts workplace workshops, which emphasise the importance of understanding and supporting menstrual cycle awareness in professional environments.

Going forward, she aspires to address the gap in female health research and its daily impact on women’s lives and work towards better education around periods in schools, which, I think we can all agree, is bloody brilliant. Even if there aren’t any pies involved. (Throwback to the previous Sweeney Todd reference.)

Keep an eye out for her new website, launching soon!
