The Big Day Out!

The Children’s Centre is kicking off the summer holidays this Saturday (July 19) with an absolute belter of a bash: The Big Day Out, and yes, tickets are still up for grabs.

Hosted at Wallberry Farm, it promises everything from live music and darts to Lego sessions and children getting artistically messy in ways that’ll make your washing machine weep.

A spokesperson from the Centre said: ‘The Big Day Out is designed to serve as a reminder of the simple joys that come with spending time together.’

Which is lovely, until someone’s toddler superglues themselves to the Lego table.

There’ll be an interactive playscape buzzing with imaginative adventures, while the Wild Space offers a peaceful retreat for anyone needing a breather, which, let’s face it, is most adults after their third glitter explosion.

Musically, it’s a local line-up so stacked, you’ll need a programme just to keep up.

Acts like Spotty Dog, Brace, Brace!, Joe Martin, and Steve ‘Noshie’ Nash will keep things bouncing across two stages, all lovingly amplified by local audio wizard Gyp from Ballagroove Studios.

If you can’t dance to this lot, check your pulse.

The whole thing costs just £15 a head (anyone under two is free, lucky things), and every penny goes towards The Children’s Centre’s work supporting families across the island.

‘Beyond all the music and activities on offer, The Big Day Out is a day full of purpose,’ the Centre said.

‘It embodies The Children’s Centre’s guiding principle of promoting resilience, self-confidence, wellbeing and respect.’

So, round up the family, grab your tickets, and prepare for a day full of heart, fun, and probably glitter in your shoes.
