WATCH: More Than 300 Take Part in Christmas Santa Dash

This video shows the Isle of Man’s Santa Dash as hundreds of Father Christmases bravely ignored the weather forecast and charged through Douglas anyway.

We’ve checked, and there were more than 300 finishes – incredible!

Taking place in thoroughly Manx conditions at lunchtime on Wednesday, the annual festive fun run went ahead in wind, rain and the sort of cold that makes you question your life choices, but spirits remained high and beards stayed (mostly) intact.

Covering a distance of just under a mile, Santas of all ages splashed their way around the course in the name of charity.

Despite the soggy suits and slipping boots, there was no shortage of smiles, laughter and festive cheer, with plenty of colourful costumes mixed in among the red, proving once again that nothing stops Manx people when there’s a good cause involved.

Better still, organisers say a significant amount of money will have been raised for charities chosen by the runners, meaning the soaked socks were very much worth it.
