Breakdown of the 14 Incidents GNAAS Responded to on the Isle of Man in 2025

The Great North Air Ambulance was called out to 14 incidents on the Isle of Man last year, according to new figures released by the charity.

During 2025, its critical care teams responded to 1,938 emergencies across the North of England and the Isle of Man, with the majority in the North East and Cumbria.

While the island accounted for a small number of call-outs, crews were still deployed to a range of serious incidents.

A breakdown shows that eight of the 14 Isle of Man call-outs were for road traffic collisions.

The service also responded to three assaults, one cardiac arrest, one incident involving self-harm and one primary transfer.

The charity operates helicopters mainly during daylight hours, with rapid response vehicles providing night-time cover.

Across all regions, crews were most often called to cardiac arrests, road traffic collisions, serious medical emergencies, major falls and assaults.

Despite the Isle of Man’s relatively small share of incidents, the air ambulance says demand for its services continues to rise, putting increasing pressure on its ageing aircraft fleet.
