Bushy’s Celebrates 40 Years of Beer, Stickers and Shenanigans With Its Own Stamp Collection

Bushy’s Brewery has officially reached the stage of life where you celebrate your birthday not with a quiet pint, but with a full-blown limited-edition Bushy’s Fans Collection in partnership with Isle of Man Stamps & Coins.

Yes, Bushy’s now has stamps. You can literally post your letters with beer history. What a time to be alive.

The new collection marks 40 years since Bushy’s first burst onto the Manx scene with artwork by Charlie Cannell, back when the brewery was just getting going and the TT crowds were discovering that slapping Bushy’s stickers everywhere was basically a competitive sport. And it still is now!

It charts everything from the famous bottle cars to the 1990 move to the new brewery site, which was officially opened by the late Michael Jackson.

There are nods to well-loved locals, iconic pints and the sort of stories that could only have happened after ‘just one more’.

Maxine Cannon, General Manager at Isle of Man Stamps & Coins, summed up the nostalgia perfectly. She said: ‘Generations of Bushy’s Fans and locals alike will remember with fondness the spontaneous fun which erupted outside the Jubilee Clock opposite the Bottleneck on a nightly basis.

‘This has always been the Bushy’s philosophy: Great Beer and Good Clean Fun, or as Martin described ’40 years of Pubs, Sweat and Beers’.

‘Working with the Bushy’s Team as we brought this postal tribute together on the fascinating history of brewing on the Isle of Man has been terrific and inspiring.’

The collection is limited to just 1,000 sets worldwide, meaning once they’re gone, they’re gone, much like your self-control after two pints of Bushy’s Piston Brew. Seriously, have you tried it?

Inside each set is Eight limited-edition reproductions from the brewery’s beer mat archive and a bespoke sheet of stamps celebrating the people, pubs and pints that shaped four decades of Bushy’s folklore.

The whole lot will set you back £27.50 including P&P. You can grab one from Isle of Man Stamps & Coins at iomstamps.com/collections/bushys40, by calling +44 1624 698430, or emailing stamps@iompost.com.

Perfect for beer lovers, bikers, collectors, and anyone who’s ever found themselves at Bushy’s saying, ‘I’ll just stay for one more’ and end up throwing your head back to ‘Jesus is a friend of mine’.
