Cheers to the Posties

While the rest of us are tracking parcels, refreshing apps and wondering ‘is that finally the candle I ordered last minute for my mum (sorry Jane)’, the island’s posties have been out doing the hard graft.

The Isle of Man Post Office has given a festive shout-out to its delivery teams, who’ve been working their way through one of the busiest times of the year.

From Christmas cards and last-minute gifts to parcels of all shapes and weights, they’ve been making sure homes and businesses across the island get what they’re waiting for.

Rain, wind, early mornings, heavy bags, none of it stops them. They’re up lanes, estates, hills and high streets, quietly keeping the festive wheels turning while the rest of us panic-buy wrapping paper.

There’s no drama, no fuss and no fanfare. Just letters through doors, parcels left safely, and that familiar red van appearing exactly when you need it most (some white vans we see now, not a fan).

So yes, this is a small but well-earned nod to the posties, the unsung heroes who make sure Christmas actually turns up on time.
