Frank Wants to Help
The group is for tips on how to save money and energy, to organising political steps and just being a place to vent.
A new Facebook group has been set up to pool resources and help island residents cope better with the drastic increase in the cost of living we are all currently experiencing.
The group, called Isle of Man Cost of Living Advice and Help was started by local eGaming executive and councillor Frank Schuengel as a private project after no dedicated resource seemed to exist.
He said: ‘The huge increases in the cost of living are hitting all of us hard. Knowing the great community spirit and the wealth of knowledge that exists within our population, this new group aims to pool resources and help us share ways in which we can better cope with the unprecedented challenges that we are currently faced with.
‘From tips on how to save money and energy, to organising political steps and just being a place to vent, it is meant to be a group people can turn to when it comes to local cost of living issues.Â
‘I would also like to invite local businesses and especially local politicians to join so we can discuss and better understand the challenges ahead and how we can all work together in mastering them. Now more than ever do we need local political leaders to step up to the plate and be visible, transparent, and accountable in how they intend to help us all get through this.’
