Artist Juan Moore is closing his The Square gallery this weekend to focus on other projects.
He announced the closure on Facebook, with tomorrow being the final day.
Juan said he was making the decision with ‘a bit of sadness’ but said that the immediate conclusion that it’s actually a good ending.
He said: ‘It is not that it hasn’t been successful, quite the opposite it has done far better than I could have imagined. I initially rented the space primarily as a studio but it evolved into more of a shop/gallery.
‘I’m closing because I can’t keep up with demand and I have a number of projects on the horizon that require a bit of secrecy so having a public studio really doesn’t work for that.’
Juan has thanked all other business owners in the Square saying ‘it’s been great working with you and I wish you all the best’.
He also thanked everyone who came into the gallery and supported it in any way.
He ended by saying: ‘I doubt that this will be the end, I will likely open up another space further down the line.’
