Kensington Arts Centre Presents: Hunt

Tickets are on sale for this year’s National Theatre Connections play – ‘Hunt’ by Fionnuala Kennedy.

Each year the National Theatre commissions ten new plays for young people to perform as part of its National Theatre Connections Programme with 300 youth theatre companies and over 6,000 young people from every corner of the UK producing a Connections play.

‘Hunt’ is about a group of teenagers playing their version of hide and seek. Their version entails ‘borrowing’ objects from their neighbours’ back gardens, and ‘dumping’ them at the ‘box’ without being caught, by either the official pursuers or the neighbours whose gardens they are infringing upon.

This year’s cast members are Iva Petrova, Katie-Rose Hughes, Eowyn Goldie, Lexi Forbes, Callum McWhinnie-Joughin, Lydia Hunter, Daniel Ansara, Sophie Hindson, Thomas Bell, Felicia Pringle, Lacey Cannell, David Livesy and Eve Puzzar. The thirteen young actors will represent the Isle of Man in the partner festival at York Theatre Royal in April.

Performances will take place at Kensington Arts, Kensington Road, Douglas on:

• Saturday 19 March, 7pm

Ahead of the first performances next week, we went to the Kensington Arts Centre to meet creative co-ordinator Peter Shimmin and some of the cast.
