Meet Torin – The Litter-Picking Legend of Marown!

In a world where superheroes come in all shapes and sizes, let us introduce you to one of Marown’s very own eco-warriors – Torin Samuels of Crosby.

At just five years old, this young star from Peel Clothworkers’ School is already making waves in the fight against litter.

Torin isn’t your typical kid; while others are off playing games, he’s rolling up his sleeves and getting down to business, one piece of litter at a time.

With a big heart for the environment and a sharp eye for rubbish, Torin has taken it upon himself to clean up the Marown Memorial Playing Fields and its surrounding areas.

It’s no small task, and he’s tackling it with the dedication and enthusiasm of someone five times his age!

Armed with his trusty litter picker and an unwavering sense of duty, Torin is showing us all that you’re never too young to make a difference.

He’s become a familiar face around Crosby, and his efforts haven’t gone unnoticed.

The Marown Memorial Playing Fields, an independent charity with a committee of volunteers that look after all the facilities at Old Church Road, took to Facebook to thank Torin.

They said: ‘Torin you are amazing, we are beyond grateful and hope you will be one of the first visitors to our brand new play park when it opens.’

Marown Parish Commissioners also commented. They said: ‘This young lad needs a huge thank you for us all!

‘What a fine example of someone who cares about where he lives. Thank you Torin.’
