Peel Appeal

The Isle of Man Motor Museum in Jurby has put out a very Manx call-to-arms, or rather, call-to-karts.

The team is on the hunt for an original Peel Engineering Manx Kart, the tiny 1960s go-kart that once whizzed around the island faster than your uncle leaving the pub when it’s his round.

They reckon a fair few were sold locally back in the day, and now they’d love to add one to their permanent Peel Engineering exhibition.

Condition? Doesn’t matter. Rusty or dusty, they’ll take it.

The museum says they can restore whatever turns up, as long as it vaguely resembles a kart and not, say, an angry wheelbarrow.

If you’ve got one tucked away in a shed, loft, or behind that stack of stuff you keep telling yourself you’ll sort ‘next weekend’, they want to hear from you.
