Plan for Outside Showers

Garff Commissioners has submitted plans for external showers on Laxey Promenade.

The plans come after some controversy over the shelter on the promenade which led to over 6,000 people submitting their support for the Laxey Beach Stop Cafe.

In its application 22/01102/B, the local authority says its plans is to use the space next to the shelter to erect two shower columns with drainage and all the usual pipes etc.

Meanwhile, in their bid to stop the shelter being redeveloped or repurposed, the cafe said: ‘Thank you all for your amazing support, we cannot thank you enough. You have given us the encouragement to continue in our quest to maintain the public shelter as it is. We have been overwhelmed – in such a good way – how much you appreciate our efforts in providing a happy, cheerful and clean space for you all to enjoy. Rest assured we will do our best to justify your support. We will not stop!’
