The Southern Swimming Pool Board says its pool will remain closed until it is deemed safe to open.
An issue with the pool hall lighting has closed the facility, with details provided at an EGM on Thursday evening,
Consultants have recently conducted a site assessment, confirming the necessity for a detailed investigation to confirm whether the building is safe.
The Board said: ‘The pool will remain closed until external consultants have satisfied the Board that there is no risk to the public. All swimming lessons and activities in the pool are suspended until it is deemed safe to resume.
‘The Board would like to stress that they prioritise public safety and is committed to reopening the pool when it is deemed safe. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work diligently towards a swift and thorough resolution.’
