Ramsey RNLI Pays Tribute to Former Chaplain

The RNLI in Ramsey has paid tribute to a former honorary chaplain following his death.

Father Brian O’Mahony, who served as parish priest in Ramsey and Peel for nearly 30 years, has been described as a ‘familiar figure’ at the town’s lifeboat station.

In a statement, Ramsey RNLI said it was ‘with great sadness’ that it records his passing, adding that he had maintained a strong connection with the station even after his formal role came to an end several years ago.

The crew said Father Brian continued to take a keen interest in their activities and was often seen stopping by for a chat, helped by the close proximity of his church and residence to the station.

They added that he will be ‘greatly missed’ by both the lifeboat team and the wider island community.
