The DoI has announced a few temporary main road closures over the next week as it tidies away things left out from the TT and MGP.

Closures are timed to lessen the impact, blah blah blah, you all know the score.

The first is on Sunday at the top of Bray Hill with will be closed at the junction with Ballaquayle Road this Sunday morning from 6am to 9am to allow the DoI and its contractor to remove the TT bridge.

Access will be maintained to the EVG garage. There is provision in the closure order to postpone this work until Sunday 23 October in the event of high winds stopping crane operations

Mountain Road

Next week will also see a three-day closure of the Mountain Road, also to tidy away TT stuff.

The Mountain Road will temporarily close on Monday 17, Tuesday 18 & Wednesday 19 between 9.30am and 4.30pm daily. The closures will be from Ramsey to Creg Ny Baa. The closure order also provides the facility to close the Mountain Road on Thursday 20 & Friday 21 if necessary.

The Highway Division will be taking advantage of the closures to inspect, and where necessary clear roadside gullies, replace a number of verge masters that have been damaged in recent road traffic collisions and complete some other minor maintenance activities.

Access to the Creg-ny-Baa will be maintained from Hillberry and the Creg Back Road, access to the Summit and Victory cafes will be maintained with parking at the Bungalow Tram Station & Victory Café will be fully accessible from the Tholt Y Will Road from Sulby.
