The knitted boots, seagulls, volunteers and life rings have appeared in Castletown and Peel.
With the RNLI celebrating its 200th birthday this week, some brilliantly knitted decorations have appeared across the island.
The knitted boots, seagulls, volunteers and life rings have appeared in Castletown and Peel.
In Castletown, yellow knitted boots have been added to the railings on the harbour side of Castle Rushen.
They were knitted by the ladies who attend Castletown Library’s Knitting and Knatter group.
The wellies are hung on the railings where the first Castletown Lifeboat House opened in 1872. It closed in 1922 when responsibility for the southern coast was transferred to Port St Mary.
In Peel, a mother and daughter have brilliantly knitted crew members, an RNLI flag, lots of yellow wellies, lifebuoys, sailboats and even a seagull.
The lifeboat station said it was ‘honoured’ by the display.
