Video: How to Save a Life

This video shows how you could potentially help save someone’s life using a pioneering drug overdose kit.

It shows counsellor Motiv8 counsellor Mark Cromwell demonstrating how to safely use and administer a substance called Nyxoid.

Nyxoid is an antidote that can be used in emergencies to ‘bring-round’ an individual suffering from the effects of an opioid overdose.

According to the UK Government backed drugs advice service talktofrank.com, Nyxoid is normally very easy for people to use.

Taking on the form of a nasal spray, it can help reverse the effects of an overdose in a matter of minutes.

Staff and volunteers from Motiv8, formerly known as the Isle of Man alcohol advisory service, handed out a number of kits to residents while manning pop-up stand in Douglas city centre last Saturday.

The pop-up event was held in in honor of Overdose Awareness Day which was fell on the 31st of August.

Individuals trained by Motiv8 are fully qualified to be able distribute these lifesaving kits to the community.

The Nyxoid kits can be picked up from Motiv8 HQ confidentially and free of charge.

Motiv8 have a dedicated team of highly qualified and experienced counsellors at the ready to aid anyone struggling with addiction.

After finishing the demonstration, Mark says: ‘This [Nyxoid] needs to be in the community, let’s end overdose.’
