Welcoming New Citizens

Government House has provided a backdrop for 37 island residents to complete their path to citizenship.

The process of obtaining British Citizenship can take take some time and this has been exacerbated over the last three years by the rona.

Government House said: ‘Staff from the Passports, Immigration and Nationality Service have been working extremely hard to bring a backlog down and today 37 island residents took part in the British Citizenship ceremony which marks the completion of the process.

‘Participants originate from all over the globe and are now living and working here as part of the rich and diverse cross-section of the International Community that is thriving here in the Isle of Man. We welcome them and wish them a happy and fulfilling life on our island.’
