Cringle Crushes CrossFit Games Debut
Our very own Aimee Cringle, the 25-year-old powerhouse from Glen Maye, has just rocked the global CrossFit scene, finishing 13th in her debut at the 2024 CrossFit Games in Fort Worth, Texas.
Competing against the world’s top 40 female athletes, Aimee took on the challenge to be crowned the ‘Fittest Woman on Earth’—and let’s just say, she didn’t disappoint.
The Games are basically a fitness Hunger Games—think of a mashup of hardcore CrossFit workouts with a sprinkle of swimming, cycling, and strongman vibes.
You’ve got your weightlifting, gymnastics, and metabolic conditioning all rolled into one sweaty, epic showdown.
And there was Aimee, right in the thick of it, showing the world that Manx grit is a force to be reckoned with.
It’s been a monster year for Aimee. She bagged 10th in the worldwide Open, 19th in the Quarterfinals, and then absolutely smashed it with 5th place in the European Semifinals.
Her consistent awesomeness earned her a spot at the Games, making her only the third British woman ever to compete in the individual category. Not bad for someone who’s also a qualified nurse!
The former QEII student and Island Games athletics gold medallist stepped up as a CrossFit Rookie, but you wouldn’t have guessed it.
Competing on the world stage against the best of the best, Aimee proved she’s one to watch, and we can’t wait to see where she goes next.
The Isle of Man’s got a new superstar, and she’s only just getting started.
