Emily’s Called to the Bar

BridsonHalsall’s Emily Brennan has been called to the Manx Bar.

She was sworn in as a fully qualified advocate by First Deemster Andrew Corlett.

Emily moved from the Isle of Man to England to pursue her legal studies and after graduating from Sheffield Hallam University in 2018 with a Law with Criminology Degree she went on to obtain a commendation in her Legal Practice Course and Masters in Legal Practice at the University of Sheffield.

In 2020 she started work with a Manchester law firm before moving back to the island to qualify as a Manx advocate.

Emily thanked all of her colleagues for their support, and said: ‘I have had a great experience training at BridsonHalsall. Over the past year I have learned so much from my colleagues and been given exposure to a wide range of areas of law which has allowed me to decide what I would like to practice in. In addition to fellow advocates sharing their wealth of knowledge and experience, they have also organised mock trials to help me gain practical experience. I couldn’t wish for a more supportive and welcoming working environment.’
