Fancy a Career in Air Traffic Control?

Ronaldsway is welcoming applications for the role of student Air Traffic Control officer.

While we wouldn’t usually share job postings, this is really just a chance to be a hero to the island, helping to ease the burden on the hard working ATC elves.

After initial familiarisation and training as an air traffic services assistant, the successful person will be sent to a specialist provider of initial training in Gloucestershire before returning to the island to conduct on-the-job training with Ronaldsway’s highly experienced team.

This will consist of roughly 40 weeks of training off-island in the UK over a two/three year period.

The job posting said: ‘As you achieve your local endorsements, you will be responsible for providing safe and efficient ATC services at the Isle of Man Airport including aerodrome, approach and approach surveillance within Isle of Man Class D airspace as well as services to aircraft in surrounding Class G airspace.

Eligibility

To qualify for this role, you must:

• Pass the First European Air Traffic Controller Selection Test (FEAST). (Arranged by Isle of Man Airport). More information on what FEAST testing is can be found here. If you have previously undertaken FEAST testing please contact Geoff Pugh on 01624 821629.
• Be examined by an Aeromedical Examiner for issue of a Class 3 medical certificate. (Arranged by Isle of Man Airport).
• Hold a full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Qualified

Ronaldsway is also looking for two qualified ATC elves. A relocation package of up to £10,000 based on receipts is available for this role. Applications close at midnight on Sunday January 1.
