GCSE Results Day 2025: A Lot More Staying In Education

More than 1,000 young people across the Isle of Man picked up their exam results today, including GCSEs, IGCSEs, BTECs and other vocational awards.

Early figures show around 90% of this year’s school leavers will be heading into sixth form or further education at UCM in September.

That’s a big jump compared to last year, when only about half chose to stay on in education.

Pass rates are broadly in line with 2024.

The overall Level 1 and 2 pass rate is 98%, with 71% achieving a Level 2 pass (grades A*–C), slightly down from 73% last year. Meanwhile, 20% hit the top grades, the same as 2024.

Education Minister Daphne Caine MHK congratulated students, saying they should all be proud of their achievements and resilience, while thanking teachers, support staff and parents for their efforts.
