Manx Student Nominated for Global Award

Castle Rushen High School student Hana Bridson has been shortlisted for a global arts award.

Hana previously won the public vote in the Sovereign Art Competition for her textiles piece ‘Textures of the Forest.’

Hana’s amazing design has now been entered into the Global competition. The Global Student Prize brings together the winning artworks from each participating country an from the shortlist, a new Global Judge’s Prize winner and Global Public Vote Prize winner are selected.

Her work is a corset based on photos taken in and around Manx glens and plantations, with a four on bark, leaves and texture.

This competition enables cultural exchange between nations, showcasing artworks by the most talented and promising students from across the globe. The Global Judge’s Prize of £800 is awarded to the student artist with the highest score from the judges and £2000 is awarded to the winner’s school.

The Global Public Vote Prize of £400 is awarded to the student artist with the most votes from the public and £1,000 is awarded to the winner’s school.

Going Global

The Global Students Prize was launched by SAF in 2021, with the intention being to bring together the winning artworks of the previous year’s student prize competitions, from each participating country, enabling cultural exchange between nations, showcasing artworks by the most talented and promising students from across the globe.

From this group of artists the public vote for a Global Public Winner and a new panel of judges convene to select a Global Judges’ Winner.
