Swimming Lessons Cancelled for Gov Conference
Buses used for swimming lessons are being used for the conference
Primary school pupils are missing out on swimming lessons this week because of the Government Conference.
Schools has been told that the buses usually used to move pupils to the island’s pools won’t be available to them.
In a letter sent to parents by one school, the headteacher told parents: ‘We have been notified by DESC that due to the Government Conference this week whereby Bus Vannin are providing transport to and from the venue, there will be no transport for school swimming on Wednesday September 20.’
That day will see students from the island’s high schools attend the youth conference before a presentation on Wednesday evening about education policies.
Lessons are due to be continue the week after.
