A Fond Farewell to Simon at Douglas Fire Station
Douglas Fire Station has said a fond farewell to one of its finest, Firefighter Simon Trenholme, who hung up his helmet after over 19 years of on-call service.
Simon joined the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service back in 2006 and quickly became one of the most experienced on-call firefighters around, tackling everything from routine call-outs to more serious emergencies with calm and dedication.
Chief Fire Officer Mark Christian presented Simon with a commemorative gift, while his colleagues gifted him a replica Fire Service axe, a nod to all those years of hard work.
And of course, a big shout-out went to Simon’s wife, Jane, for keeping the home fires burning with unwavering support.
The Service wishes Simon, Jane, and their family all the best for the next chapter, though we suspect Simon won’t be far from a fire engine if duty calls!
