The Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward to assist with an ongoing investigation of assault that left one man in hospital.
Officers responded to reports of a fight between two men at about 10.20pm on New Years Eve, in the area of the traffic lights near to the Rosemount pub.
As a result of the assault, one man received treatment at Noble’s.
The Constabulary said: ‘We believe a number of members of the public were present at the time, some who assisted in separating the males and others who were present in their vehicles.
‘A number of enquiries are ongoing in relation to this investigation but we are asking the public who have yet to be spoken to by Police to assist us in coming forward as possible witnesses as well as checking any dash cam footage within their vehicles that may have captured the assault.’
