Large Number of Officers Involved in Search
The road is closed from Lower Scard Farm to Roundtable Junction.
Police are searching a large area around the Sloc Road, with the road due to remain closed until this afternoon.
The Constabulary has confirmed that a large number of officers are involved in the search.
A spokesperson said: ‘At approximately 00.10am this morning, Thursday 26th October 2023, an incident occurred in the area of The Sloc in the South of the island. As a result of this, a road closure is currently in place from the top of the Round Table, Dalby down through the bottom of the Sloc and to the area of Lower Scard Farm (the bottom part of the Sloc which meets with Ballakillowey).
‘There is currently a large Police presence in this area whilst we conduct an open area search. Please be advised that the public should not be alarmed by this presence as there is no risk to you at this time. The road closures will be in place until at least 2pm today. As soon as we can provide a further update, we will.
‘We would ask the public to avoid the area at this time to allow Officers the space to conduct the search. As always, we appreciate your cooperation.’
Police say that there is no risk to the public.
