Leave the Scooters at Home

The Police have advised that e-scooters cannot be ridden legally on Manx roads or public places.

This follows a crash which involving an e-scooter which landed a person in a serious condition in hospital.

Police said: ‘Without legislation in place to ensure the electric scooters are used correctly, with the correct safety features, by those aged appropriately, the risk of serious injury posed to the public and riders is extremely high.

‘This post is intended to ensure everyone is fully informed in regards the legality of electric scooters on the Isle of Man, and to prevent any future incidents from occurring.’

However, the cops did add that the there is new legislation pending around e-scooters.
