Peel Coastguard were called out last night to investigate reports of an object in the sea off Niarbyl.
It was believed that whatever it was could have been a hazard to shipping, with the Marine Operations Centre asking the Coastguard to check it out.
The Coastguard said: ‘On arrival the area was scanned from several vantage points but nothing was seen.’
Volunteers returned to the station ready for the next call-out by 8pm.
