How Did Carol Score?

Farmer’s wife Carol Kermode was beaten by the narrowest of margins to come second on BBC’s Mastermind this evening.

Carol’s specialist subject was the history of cattle. Going last, she answered nine correct answers in two minutes, with no passes to lead after the first round.

In the second, general knowledge round, Carol again went last needing 11 points to win.

Beginning with a question on the Sicilian defence and Fawlty Towers, she never looked back and with one pass drew level with fellow competitor Sharon.

However, having used no passes Sharon edged Carol and won by the slimmest of margins.
