Santa Explores The Island’s Shops In New ‘Love Manx’ Xmas Advert
*CONTAINS SPOILERS*
Have you ever wondered what the Isle of Man equivalent of a John Lewis Christmas advert might look like?
Well wonder no more. Forget Buster the Boxer, Monty the Penguin and Excitable Edgar.
All of them are nothing in comparison to John Anslow’s portrayal of Santa Claus in Love Manx’s 2024 advert, in which he goes on an Isle of Man shopping spree after a little girl loses her Christmas list on Douglas Prom.
The bearded wonder travels in his multi-coloured tractor (which it seems he has “saint-nicked” from the Young Farmers) and visits local businesses such as the Woodbourne Deli, Model World, Elaine’s Flowers and Manton’s Card shop.
After checking off little Sophie’s list as the day progresses, Santa annoys the rush-hour traffic by travelling at 20mph to her house, where the family rush to the window with brimming smiles to see the big man deliver his sack of presents.
Brilliantly put together by Hello Little People and filmed and edited by 9-TEN Media Group, the advert encourages people to shop locally – and definitely does not endorse little children to lose their Christmas lists on purpose…
A spokesperson from Love Manx said: ‘This year, we’re celebrating the incredible customer service that makes our island’s community so special.
‘Through friendly faces, guidance, bespoke gifts and beautiful gift wrapping (the list goes on!), shopping local is made a true joy.’
