Susan’s Grand Day Out

Comedian Susan Calman and her vintage camper campervan will be showing off the island on Friday evening, as part of her Grand Day Out show on Channel 5.

Across 60 minutes, she’ll ride a Vikings longboat, ride a tram and try a kipper bap.

A trailer for the show, which we’ll share on Facebook and Insta later, shows her riding a tram with Laxey’s very own Andrew Scarffe MBE, driving a Peel P50 and climbing the Great Laxey Wheel.

As if that wasn’t enough, Laxey Primary School have revealed that their Year 6 students will be debating a topic that will mean more to residents than most of the items usually brought before Tynwald, as they debate kippers v chips cheese and gravy.

The show will be on Channel 5 at 8pm on Friday or stream later on MY5.
