A Cooperative Clean-up
The event will be on Sunday from 10.30am
A BRAND new event for the Isle of Man takes place this weekend involving everyone who shops at the Co-op teaming up together with volunteers from Beach Buddies.
Beach Buddies is helping the Co-op with its annual “Great Big Green Week” which is a celebration of action to tackle climate change and protect nature, taking place in communities nationwide.
The event will be on Sunday morning, June 18 (which is also Father’s Day) at Port St Mary, meeting at the car park close to the Mona’s Queen Memorial from 10.30am.
A spokesman for Beach Buddies said: ‘This is the first time we have got involved with the Co-op’s “Great Big Green Week” and we intend to make this an annual event from now on.
‘Beach Buddies supports a number of nationwide events each year and this one will definitely become an annual event from now on. It’s been a few weeks since we’ve held a weekend tam volunteer event, so we’re hoping lots of people will be keen to get back onto the beaches again and we’re hoping for a big turn-out at Port St Mary so that we can take a publicity photograph of the occasion for ourselves and for the Co-op.;
