Beach Buddies Shortlisted for Global Award
The charity is heading to a high profile ceremony in Trondheim, Norway
Beach Buddies has been short-listed for a worldwide environment award which it describes as the most important point in the history of the charity.
Having recently won a national award in London, the Manx charity is now in line for what is described as ‘one of the world’s top accolades for environmental organisations’ for its work in promoting environmental awareness amongst young people.
Beach Buddies has been shortlisted for a high profile ceremony in Trondheim, Norway later this month which will be covered by TV stations and media worldwide, reaching an audience of over 400 million.
‘Whatever happens in Trondheim, this now places us well and truly on the world map. The online reach of an organisation like this is way beyond anything we could achieve on our own and gives us a platform to spread the word worldwide about what has been achieved in the Isle of Man.’
The Energy Globe World Awards winners will be named in Trondheim next week on January 25. Beach Buddies founder Bill Dale will attend, along with four Beach Buddies’ volunteers.
