Bye Tuesday!
Whales and Dolphins in a Cathedral
Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch’s Manx Nature Show, a celebration of our local wildlife and those who work to conserve it, will take place at Cathedral Isle of Man in Peel, opening on February 18 and running for three months until May 6.
A collection of natural curiosities will be on loan from MNH to include bones, shells and other fascinating wildlife specimens. Activities for children will include writing a wildlife pledge and completing a quiz sheet as they work their way around the show and gardens. The BIG Manx Nature Show Scrapbook will provide a place for people to write down sightings of flora and fauna within the grounds and add sketches, poetry, or notes.
The opening event on Saturday February 18 will provide an opportunity to meet representatives of the environmental groups. There will be nature activities for the children and Q/As for adults. Tea and coffee will be available for donation, and you are welcome to bring along a packed lunch and stay for as long as you wish.
The Manx Nature Show and Cathedral gardens will be open to walk around seven days a week 9am-6pm (subject to church services) and bookable workshops will take place on selected dates. There will be occasional dates with strictly no admittance inside the Cathedral, and these are all clearly listed on the website homepage.
Citywealth
Private client lawyers, Advocate John Rimmer Limited, are delighted to announce that it has again been awarded a silver in the Citywealth IFC awards, in the category of “Law Firm of the Year – Isle of Man”.
The awards are an annual celebration of leading professional services in international financial centres, including the Isle of Man, and were presented by former Liberal Dem star, Lembit Öpik. This success comes on top of the firm’s recent selection by Spear’s in its “The Spears 500”, a guide to the top 500 advisors, lawyers and service providers for high net worth individuals.
Speaking after the event, John Rimmer congratulated the other Manx legal firms who also shone at the awards: ‘Together, they help to demonstrate the width and quality of professional care available for clients from the Manx legal profession.’
Citywealth first published its private client leaders’ list in 2005. John Rimmer featured then, and he and the firm have appeared in every issue and successor offshoot that is relevant to him or the firm ever since.
Deadline Day
It’s also transfer deadline day, which is exciting, probably, for some people.
