Manx Utilities to Explore Peel Manhole
As a precautionary measure, its teams will dig down to investigate further this morning

Manx Utilities says it has identified a potential small issue with a manhole in Peel.
The authority has been observing Peel’s beach area after reports of sewage washing up on the beach.
The manhole is adjacent to the sea wall but MU said that ‘no discharge of solid matter has been observed and this is not thought to be the cause of the foam along the beach’.
Yesterday the authority said photos of Peel beach showed ‘naturally occurring foam and scum’,
As a precautionary measure, its teams will dig down to investigate further this morning and also take samples of the foam for analysis.
